How listings are ordered
No business pays to be listed and no business pays to appear higher. Listings an owner has claimed appear first, then the rest in alphabetical order.
What goes on a listing
A business is added from a source it already publishes itself: its own website, a public business register, or a public trade licence list. Every listing traces back to one of those or to an open map dataset. We do not copy another directory's descriptions or reviews.
Checked every day
Every night the system opens every listed website. A site that is parked, empty or not answering counts as a failure for that day. Recently closed businesses with an inactive site, a redundant site or a 404 are removed automatically after 3 consecutive daily failures. Every listing shows the date it was last checked.
Claim, edit, fix or remove
An owner can claim a listing and write their own description, confirming from the business's own email. Once claimed, changes are made any time from the edit page. Unclaimed listings and one-off corrections go through the fix form. A change to the address, or a removal, is confirmed by a link we email to the business.
Who runs them
Coastworks AI, a Sunshine Coast consultancy that builds websites, email marketing and AI automations for small businesses, pays for these guides and runs the system behind them. Nothing on a listing is influenced by that.
Each guide is one live example of a daily automation Coastworks runs in public. It is not what Coastworks installs for clients.
